Studio Open House: Sat, Nov 17th
We are holding our first public Open House at Grand Rapids Glassblowing Studio on Saturday, November 17th. Doors will be open from 10 am till 4 pm.
There will be:
• demonstrations going on throughout the day
• a chance to watch, learn and ask questions
• a variety of gift items and other work available to purchase
• lots of ornaments!
It should be fun. Hope you can stop by!
Busy Fall Season
We've fired up the studio for our Fall 2012 season. I've been busy building up inventory and working on a few commissions. One of the commissions involves creating glass "planets" for a lighting fixture based on an orrery. I'll post photos when the project is finished.
A number of folks have mentioned that they didn't see me at Fallasburg or the Meijer Gardens Gift Show this year. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to prepare enough work for any shows this fall due to another foot surgery earlier this year. If you were hoping to add to your pumpkin collection, or are looking for some holiday gift items, be sure to stop by our Studio Open House.
We're also busy with fall workshops and classes at the studio. Check out the listings here.
I have put up a website for our new studio. You can visit it at GRglassblowing.com. Another way to keep in touch with studio happenings is via our Facebook page. Be sure to "like" us so you'll find out about workshops and other events as we announce them.
West Michigan Artists Feature
Have you seen the blog about artists from West Michigan? It features interviews with visual artists from right here in western Michigan. There is now a piece about me and my glassblowing on their site. Click here to take a look.
Diane Zoellmer and Julie Myrmel are doing a great job with this blog. In addition, Diane and Julie are available to help artists develop an online presence. Contact them for more info by clicking here.
Keep in touch
If you'd like to be on my email list, just click here to send me a note saying so. I'll keep you posted on shows, events, new work and any events, workshops or open houses at the studio. And I won't give your email address to anyone for any reason. Thanks!
